Prior to that accident, I think it’s safe to say that I had a healthy disrespect for how truly dangerous motorsport can be. On one hand that’s a good thing because it allows you to approach the endeavor without fear or trepidation. On the other hand it can allow you to exceed your abilities in a way that puts your life in danger as well as that of your fellow drivers.

In coming across this video, and central to my reason for posting, is that I realized how much I truly love motorsport as a participant. I’m not quite sure I’ve ever come across another activity that gave me the exhilarating high that comes from driving at highspeed on a racetrack.

Here’s to hoping that I get to experience this again before I go off into the aether.
